5 things that annoy me

May 6, 2015
Annoyed cat

We’ve all got pet peeves, but we certainly do not share the same ones. Things that annoy others might not annoy me at all and vice versa. There are certain things that annoy me so much that I sometimes don’t know how to handle it. They are small things too, so it might sound super silly to others. I thought that I would share them to see if there is anyone else out there who share them with me. These are in no particular order.

  1. Buses that release air really loudly
So this one might sound a bit strange. But you know how sometimes when you’re walking down the street, a bus will stop and release some sort of air pressure. Some of them do it slowly and in a few steps. Some of them do it all in one go and really loudly. I can’t stand it! It scares the hell out of me every time, and it makes me really angry. I can totally see how this sounds really strange, but sometimes I just feel like punching the driver. I don’t even know how it works, whether or not it’s the driver’s fault or if it depends on the bus. All I know is that I want it to stop. NOW.
  2. Cyclists that cycle next to each other on the road
To be honest, I just don’t like cyclists on the road at all. Here in New Zealand, the roads are so narrow that sometimes you can hardly fit two cars next to each other, so it gets extremely frustrating when there are cyclists around. If you ask Jeremy, he’ll tell you how annoyed I get around them. When they cycle next to each other, and don’t move when a car is coming, I immediately assume that they are total jerks. I hate it so much that I sometimes want to stare them down when passing (but I never do, because what would that do? Haha). There needs to be bike lanes, but the problem here in NZ is that there is nowhere to put them.
  3. People that walk really slowly in front of me
With this one, I know the problem lies with me, because people shouldn’t have to be rushing, but I like to walk briskly most of the time. So when someone is walking like a snail in front of me and I don’t have an opportunity to pass them, I get really frustrated! Especially if I’m in a hurry somewhere. I mean, I can totally deal with old people or handicapped people because that’s just expected, but if it’s someone just walking and daydreaming at the same time, my opinion is that they should stick to the side and not walk in the middle of the road.
  4. When people use a photo of their baby/pet as a profile photo
I love babies, and I love pets. I don’t mind seeing you post pictures of them either. I mean, yes, it does get a bit old seeing photos every single day. No one needs every day of their life photographed. But still, I can deal with that. But when people change their profile picture on Facebook to a picture of their baby or pet, it annoys me. Is it their profile or yours? I’m fairly sure your baby is too young to have a Facebook account, and unless you prove me wrong, I don’t think your pet can use a computer. A profile picture is there to show a picture of you. Please.
  5. People confusing Sweden with Switzerland
It was pretty funny to start with, but we are not the same country! No, Sweden does not have great chocolate (well we do, but no the one you’re referring to), and no, we do not have amazing ski resorts or epic mountains. Sweden is Sweden. It’s a giant country in Scandinavia. Bigger than most other European countries, it’s actually quite hard to miss. We are famous for ABBA, IKEA, Volvo, SAAB, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Ace of Base, Rekorderlig, Kopparberg and much more.

Right, that’s enough whining for one post, haha.
