Sweden won Eurovision!

I had to take a break from blogging for a day, because I was preparing for our small gathering for the final of Eurovision Song Contest. I really did not expect Sweden to win, but I’m so happy! I knew that we were one of the favourites, but Russia were so good too!

The results were intense, because Russia was in the lead the first half, but then Sweden passed them and it was amazing! He really deserves it. There has been a whole lot of rumours going around that he’s a homophobe, but I really do not believe that. He seems like such a genuinely nice person.

So now Sweden will host Eurovision Song Contest next year! I would love to be in Europe when that happens. Last time I couldn’t be there, and I was gutted. This was our 6th win in total since the competition started. The years we have won are 1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012 and 2015. The only other country that has won more than us is Ireland with 7 wins.

Did you watch Eurovision Song Contest? If so, who was your favourite?

Sophie
