Theme Hospital

June 25, 2015

Theme Hospital is a game I used to play as a kid. It’s a game that I get the urge to play every now and again. Last weekend I felt like playing it after I discovered Jeremy had it downloaded on his computer. It’s a really old game. I think it first came out in 1997 so it’s almost 20 years old! But it’s still so much fun to play.

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, I’ll explain a little what it’s about. As the title suggests, you run a hospital. You have to cure a certain amount of patients per level, and you discover new illnesses as you go. The first few levels are quite easy, but once you get up to the higher ones, you start getting earthquakes, epidemics and all kinds of stuff. You have to keep people from dying pretty much.

Theme HospitalYou hire doctors, nurses, cleaners and receptionists. And you need to make sure that they are happy and rested, or they won’t work. They occasionally ask for pay rises too. It’s a pretty cool game for 1997 in my opinion. The same company made another game called Theme Park. I remember playing that as well, but I haven’t played it since I was a kid. It was basically an earlier version of RollerCoaster Tycoon. Might see if I can find it somewhere.

I miss old games. They were so much Showbox Download less complicated back then, but still so much fun to play. Games these days don’t really impress me. They seem to be either about violence and death, or they’re like those stupid Facebook games where you need ‘energy’ to play and you have to wait for your energy to fill up (which takes hours) or buy energy. I hate it.

What games did you use to play as a kid? 🙂

The last games I played were in the 90’s when my son and daughter were little ones. The wife loves her FB games.
