I’ve been taking a break from the blog over the weekend due to my sickness. It was a rough weekend, haha. Lots of sleep, movies and just staying inside trying to get better. I went home from work on Thursday afternoon feeling really bad. At that stage, I don’t think it had fully broken out yet, I was just feeling light-headed, nauseous and just had to lie down. I wish we had a ‘resting room’ at work, haha. A nap probably would have got me through the rest of the day.
When I got home on Thursday I finished off my work in bed. As soon as five o’clock came around, I shut the laptop, pulled the curtains, and went to sleep. I slept for about 2 and a bit hours. When I woke up, I wasn’t really feeling better, just exhausted. But I thought that I might as well wake up so that I could get plenty of sleep that night. I was hoping that a long night’s sleep would fix me up.
It didn’t. I woke up on Friday morning with no voice, a sore throat and feeling exhausted still. I knew that it wasn’t worth going to work, because I would have likely had to turn back around again as soon as I got there. So I stayed home. Got plenty of sleep, which didn’t seem to do much to make me feel better. I watched three movies on Friday. I also watched two episodes of White Collar, and the new episode of Suits. I was so sick of my laptop by the end of the day. But there wasn’t really much else around to do seeing as I had to stay in bed and try to get better.
On Saturday, I woke up and didn’t have a sore throat any more. Instead I had a blocked nose, itchy throat and blocked ears. This is what I call the final stage of my sickness, haha. So I knew it was going to be another day in bed. After half the day, I was so bored and desperate for company (Jeremy was away playing board games the whole day). So I texted Kitty to see if she wanted to come around. We ended up having dinner together, and I was silly enough to have some wine too. I know now that it was a big mistake, because even though I only had a couple of glasses, I felt horrible on Sunday morning with a small hangover added to my sickness. Let’s hope I’ve learned from that mistake!
So Sunday morning was rough. I didn’t start feeling better until late afternoon, but luckily I did start to feel quite a lot better at that point. I was worried on Sunday morning that was going to have to call in sick today, but that wasn’t the case. I actually felt quite energised this morning. I do still have a runny nose and a bit of throat issues still, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed it is going to improve over the next few days.
