Movie night in the Gold Lounge: Ant Man

August 6, 2015

I never used to book tickets for the gold lounge when I went to the movies in the past, but lately I feel like the regular seats are just not good enough. Spoiled much?  But can you blame me? You either sit in uncomfortable fabric seats with no leg room, and no opportunity to move around. Plus, there is a risk of you sitting next to someone who talks through the movie, and your seat might get kicked at. Ugh..

So I would rather sit in the gold lounge where you get leather seats with a foot rest, a table for your drinks or food that you might bring along. Plus, you have the opportunity to perhaps go to the bathroom without the hassle of having to excuse yourself while you walk in front of people to get out and back in.

I’m currently sitting outside with a glass of wine waiting for Jeremy and Max to arrive. It’s the first glass of wine I’ve had in over two weeks! (If you know me, you know that’s quite a long time, haha).

Gold lounge tickets are usually a bit pricy, but they had a special on this week which meant we could buy them for $15. That’s pretty much the same price as a normal ticket! So why not? I’m actually quite surprised they didn’t sell out before we were able to book them. We only booked them earlier today. And from memory, there are only 20 something seats in the gold lounge.

We’re going to see Ant Man. To be honest, what I know about the movie itself doesn’t excite me hugely. But a lot of the time when I choose what movies to see, I choose them based on the actors that are in them. I happen to be a big fan of Paul Rudd, so I’m curious to see him in this role. It’s so different from what I’ve seen him in before!

The storyline to me seems a bit strange, but you never know, I might love it. I’m not usually a big fan of action movies, but there are some exceptions. I love Spiderman for example (the ones with Tobey Maguire, although the ones with Andrew Garfield are OK too).

Anyway, I’ll end this post here. Let me know if you’ve seen the movie and what you thought of it!

I haven’t seen Ant Man yet although I heard it was great! The gold lounge sounds really nice, do they have a bar in there? It reminds me of some theaters I’ve seen popping up over here with nice comfy recliner chairs, although I’m not sure if it’s limited to only 20 people a room. I’ve never actually been so I’m just sharing what I’ve seen from pictures my sister has taken at one. I think my hubs and I will have to check it out sometime though, it sounds wonderful 🙂

I hope you enjoyed the movie, and the wine! 😉

To be honest, I didn’t really enjoy the movie. I’d probably give it a 3/5, if that. Haha. But the gold lounge was great. They do have a bar in there where you can order all sorts of drinks. And if you want you can order food too, which they will serve you during the movie. 🙂
