Review: Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser

August 12, 2015

Not long ago, I reviewed another cleanser from Formula 10.0.6, you can find that post here. I actually use this one in conjunction with the other one. I know they are both meant to be cleansers, but I feel that this one is more of a toner. Although, in saying that, I’m again impressed by how well this one cleans your face.

When I didn’t use the Formula 10.0.6 foaming cleanser, and I used a cleanser that didn’t work as well, this deep pore cleanser cleaned up the remainder of make-up and oil that was left on my face.

Cleanser

I do need to mention though, that this cleanser stung a bit when I first started using it. It did worry me a tiny bit, but I decided to keep using it while keeping an eye on my skin to make sure I didn’t get an allergic reaction or anything. And after using it for a week or so, it no longer stings. I’m not sure if that’s because my skin has got used to it, or if I’m just used to the stinging and don’t pay attention to it any more, haha.

Like I mentioned in my post about the foaming cleanser, it’s important to moisturise well after using this one, because it does dry out your skin a bit (because it removes the oils so well!) So make sure you don’t forget to moisturise after using it. I’ve found that I get less breakouts after using it as well, so it seems like they’re not lying when they say it’s an acne treatment as well as a cleanser.

Have you used it? What did you think? 🙂

I hadn’t heard of this brand before. On the website for Ulta (not sure if you have one there) it has 4.5 out of 5 stars. Lactic Acid is pretty high on the ingredient list (helps with acne and skin texture) and was probably the stinging sensation. It’s a good ingredient. Now your skin is acclimated to it, hence the lack of stinging. If you find that it’s drying to your skin the reason may the alcohol denat at the top of the list (not all alcohol is bad for the skin).

Thanks for the tips! That explains why it doesn’t sting any more!

    Hey Sophie,
Thank you so much for finding me in my little corner of the internet and following Bea Cassidy – it means a lot.
I love hearing that others have discovered Formula 10.0.6. – it’s so affordable and is cruelty-free, which is GREAT. I’ve just finished my bottle of Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser and while I liked it, I found it to cleanse very well. But maybe too well. I find that my skin feels clean, but SUPER DRY after using it, so I run to my desk and apply moisturiser as fast as possible. I also have their Pores Be Pure Skin Clarifying Mud Mask with Strawberry & Yarrow, which I like, but I find that it stings on my sensitive skin. 🙁 The third product I have of theirs is the One Smooth Operator Pore Clearing Face Scrub with Zinc, Oat & Pumice. It’s fabulous, because I love a proper scrub and a rough one at that.
    xx

Hey! I haven’t tried their mud mask, but I have used the scrub before! I don’t often use scrubs but I did like that one. I see what you mean when you say they cleanser dries out your skin. I feel the same, but at the same time I feel it’s ok as long as I moisturise straight after 🙂

Where in New Zealand can I find this product? I found it at Big W in Australia and haven’t found anything that visibly cleans the skin as well. Now that I moved to NZ need to find an outlet in Christchurch.
