Jeremy and I are currently watching the World Series of Poker from last year. It’s funny how I find it interesting to watch other people play cards for hours, haha. I’ve always liked playing poker, and I feel I don’t get to do it often enough. Online poker is just not the same as having the cards in your hand and betting with chips.

We had a Casino themed night with work the other week (not playing with real money, just chips that you were given). I realised then that gambling is not nearly as fun when you can’t win anything! Who would have known, haha. Not that I often win at real casinos, but it’s just so much more fun when you know there is a chance you could.

Watching the World Series of Poker is also pretty cool to learn some stuff. Although I consider myself a decent poker player, I’m not nearly as good as you need to be to play it professionally, I wish I was! The best thing about watching it is that you can see their hands and you know when someone’s making a huge mistake. And then I sit there and say ‘Fold! You’ve only got two pairs and he’s got a straight’, like he’s supposed to know that!

It costs $10,000 to enter, so you don’t really want to enter unless you know you’re really good. It would be something for my bucket list though. The person who won last year (although I don’t know who it is yet), won 10 million dollars. Now, that’s a decent pay day!

Do you like playing poker?

I have to admit, I’m not a fan of poker, or really any game that involves cards. I attempt to blame a bad childhood experience with my almost obsessive lack of interest in playing cards. With that in mind, I really enjoyed reading this post! I could picture it all perfectly in my head, grinning as you told them to fold when they can’t hear you. Great post! Can’t wait to read the one where you check it off your bucket list!! 🙂

Cool to hear you liked my post! The post where I cross it off my bucket list might be quite a few years away unfortunately! Haha.
