I’m addicted to the most ridiculous game show

August 18, 2015

I don’t even think I should be writing about this because I’m so embarrassed, but I just have to share it! You know how there are so many terrible game shows out there? Game shows that you’d only watch if you’re home sick and you’re extremely bored and get stuck watching whatever is on TV? Well, I’ve found one of them. The only difference is that I watched it by choice and felt like watching more afterwards. I can’t even believe it myself.

I usually hate reality shows, unless they’re about cooking (Masterchef) or travelling (The Amazing Race). So the fact that I watched this incredibly cheesy and ridiculous show is a mystery. The show is called ‘Take me out’.

Take me out

Here is a short summary of what it’s about:

The objective of the show is for a single man to obtain a date with one of thirty single women. The women stand on stage underneath thirty white lights, each with a button in front of them. A single man is then brought down on stage via the ‘Love Lift’ and tries to persuade the women to agree to this date in a series of rounds, playing a pre-recorded video discussing his background, displaying a skill (such as dancing or playing a musical instrument), or playing another video in which the man’s friends or family reveal more about his virtues and philosophy.

I bet you’re shaking your head right now wondering what’s wrong with me. OK, I might have been exaggerating when I said I’m ‘addicted’ to it. I’ve actually only seen two episodes, but I secretly love it. It’s just so stupid, but so enjoyable at the same time! I always shake my head at people that watch things like Jersey Shore, or Keeping up with the Kardashians. I think I’ve given up the right to do so by watching this show.

If you for any reason want to check out a clip from the show, you can find one here.

Do you watch a show that you’re embarrassed to admit to watching?

I feel your pain, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine coz it’s very entertaining- But I’d never admit it to anyone I know in real life haha! There’s an Irish version of this show too that I watch occasionally and one time an Irish guy I’d kissed while traveling Australia 6 years previously(but he came across a bit desperate so I lost interest) appeared in it and didn’t get a date coz he sang karaoke to a Ronan Keating song! I was in knots laughing! Ireland is a small country….and I’m mean for laughing at him but LOL

Haha, that is hilarious! It’s funny how they always turn off their lights when someone admits they sing karaoke! I would just think it’s hilarious. Even if it was a Ronan Keating song, lol!
