The Little Waffle Shop

August 21, 2015

If you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, this will look pretty delicious to you! We’ve got this little ‘in the wall’ waffle shop in central Wellington called The Little Waffle Shop and it’s super popular. I had tried it once before, and last night after dinner, Jeremy and I decided to share a waffle.

They’ve got quite a few different flavours to choose from, but Jeremy and I decided to go for the Rocky Road. Yum!

The waffles are $7 each, and they sell like butter! There was a queue when we got there and a queue when we left. It probably took about 10 minutes for us to be able to order one. And it was 7pm on a Thursday evening, so not even a super busy day in town.

Here are the flavours they offer:

CHEEKY CHOCOLATE
Lashings of home-made chocolate sauce, topped with chocolate chips

BEE MY HONEY
Liquid gold drizzled all over, topped with shaved almonds

BERRY BERRYLICIOUS
Home-made berry compote topped with whipped cream

CARAMEL COOKIE CRUMBLE
Crushed Oreo cookies covered in home-made ooey gooey caramel sauce

SWEET PASSION
A delightful spread of passion fruit & luscious lemon curd

PEACHES & CREAM
Sweet peaches drizzled with white chocolate & vanilla ganache, topped with fresh cream

LOVELY LOUISE
Toasted coconut & berry compote nished with slightly scorched meringue

ROCKY ROAD
Roasted peanuts, mini marshmallows & home-made chocolate sauce

LEMON MERINGUE PIE
Luscious lemon curd crowned with sweet & slightly scorched meringue

SNICKERS
Home-made chocolate and caramel sauce scattered with roasted peanuts

Just looking at those almost makes me want to go get another one! I would have preferred my waffle to be a bit more cooked though, as it was a bit doughy. This might have been because of how busy it was, but it could also be that I just prefer mine a bit darker.

Do you like waffles? 🙂

Haha it would have been if there was any banana on it! Haha. I actually said when we were ordering them that they should have a banana option. 🙂
