Burger Wellington: Olive

August 22, 2015

I’ve managed to have another of the burgers served during the Burger Wellington event. We went out with work yesterday to try out the burger at Olive. If you didn’t read my previous post about Burger Wellington, you might not know what it is, so if you want a quick explanation of it, here’s that post.

I had never been to Olive before, so I didn’t really know what to expect from the place. It turned out to be a really cool little place. Quite busy, but not so busy that you had to wait for ages to be served. This time we had a booking, which helped!

Here’s the description of the burger:

PrimeStar Angus patty with Zany Zeus cheese, bacon, tomato and mayonnaise in a Leeds Street Bakery bun – all smoked, with smoked onion rings.

So let’s review the burger. It was a perfect size for me. It was definitely the kind of burger that I had to eat with a knife and fork, but that’s fine because I prefer to do it that way anyway! It didn’t come with the onion rings, so they must have changed the menu after it was printed. I didn’t miss them though to be honest. The burger itself was tasty enough, and it was quite nice with the slaw on the side.

Everything had a smoky flavour, and it was delicious. Even the bun was smoked! Yum. The service was great! They came and checked on us several times to see if we were ready to order. After we ordered, the waitress made sure she got the order right, and it didn’t take long at all for the burgers to come out. Maybe 20 minutes or so, and that’s impressive, because we ordered 8 burgers!

So it was great! My rating for this burger is:

Absolutely! I wouldn’t even have been annoyed if it took 30 minutes! Haha.
