Food Show Haul!

Food Show

On Saturday, Jeremy and I spent most of the day at the Wellington Food Show, like we do every year it’s in town. It’s such an amazing event. You pay roughly $25 for the ticket and you can then walk around and sample products pretty much all day. All kinds of foods, wine, spirits and beer. It’s crazy good value!

And the other great thing about it is that they do specials on the day, so if you like what you taste, you’ve got the opportunity to buy them for a cheaper price. Not going to lie, we’ve never purchased as much as we did this year!

Food Show

There are a lot of products, but you can’t really see them all on the photo because it was quite hard to fit them all in, haha. So here’s a full list of what we bought:

4 x 500g Angus beef patties
500g Angus premium beef mince
500g Angus beef schnitzel
500g Angus sirloin steak
1kg natural manuka smoked chicken
3 x 400g venison stir-fy
450g Urban Hippie miso paste
Gourmet smoked NZ garlic seasoning
1 x Hazelnut flavouring syrup
1 x Sweet Chai flavouring syrup
1 x Pukara Estate garlic olive oil
1 x Pukara Estate truffle oil
1 x St Andrews Limes spicy glaze
1 x St Andrews Limes lime curd
1 x St Andrews Limes lime & passionfruit curd
1 x 100g T Leaf Earl Grey Blue Flower
1 x 100g T Leaf High Grade Jasmine
1 x 50g T Leaf Kawakawa Fire
1 x Maison Therese apple chutney
1 x Maison Therese tomato relish
1 x Maison Therese sliced balsamic onion
2 x Benjer apple & raspberry juice
1 x Benjer nectarine juice
1 x Benjer apple juice
1 x Benjer apple & feijoa juice
1 x Benjer apple & boysenberry juice
3 x Village Press garlic & rosemary oil
2 x Village Press lemon oil
1 x Village Press garlic oil
2 x Proper Crisps rosemary & thyme
2 x Proper Crisps cider vinegar & sea salt
1 x Forrest Rosé
1 x The Doctors Sauvignon Blanc
1 x Goodie bag
3 x Kraving meringue cakes

Now, that’s a long list of food if I’ve ever seen one! Now comes the challenge of trying to use everything up before they expire, haha. Luckily a lot of the fresh products can be frozen! But there is a lot of meat there. We’ve already used up one packet of beef patties for dinner Saturday and lunch Sunday.

Have you ever been to a show like the Food Show?

I’ve been to the food show once before. Every year we say we should go again but then things come up and it’s on sooner than we realise. I really want to go again though. Everything you brought sounds so nice but the venison stood out to me. Haha I love venison.

I absolutely love venison too! 🙂 But we never seem to buy it at the supermarket. Might have to buy some more now though because we love it so much, haha. Pity that it’s so expensive!
