Had a blast on Friday night

October 5, 2015

I was actually meant to blog about this earlier, but I took a break from blogging over the weekend. Had a super quiet weekend to myself while Jeremy was in Palmerston North to visit his parents. I literally have done nothing the whole weekend. Sometimes you just need one of those weekends.

So on Friday, I went out with Nicky, Mike, Wiremu and Joris, and had a great night! We started off by having dinner and frozen margaritas at Flying Burrito Brothers. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but the food was even better than I remember it. And those frozen margaritas are so dangerous! I ordered a pitcher for myself, but could easily have ordered another!

After dinner, we headed off to VK’s to see Wiremu perform with his improv group. It was such a fun show. Lots of hilarious stand-up comedians and the improv is always so cool to see. I don’t know how they do it. I would never be able to come up with things on the spot like they do.

My goal was to drink cider the whole night, but that didn’t really work out. I had a glass of wine at work before going out, then margaritas and at VK’s I finally had a couple of ciders. Met some Swedish people there too, which was really cool.

After the comedy show, we all went out to sing karaoke. My plan to drink cider was ruined there too, haha. So instead I ended up drinking Soju, which is some sort or Korean drink. I believe it was 17.5% alcohol, so I took it very easy with that one.

We ended up spending about two hours singing karaoke. I took some photos and videos, but unfortunately it was quite dark in there, so I decided not to upload those photos. It was great fun as always. Karaoke must be one of my favourite things to do when I go out. So if anyone’s keen for karaoke, hit me up! Haha.

After the karaoke we went to order some food and I then took the night bus home. The night bus is always very interesting. It never goes the normal route. So it took me ages to get home, but that was absolutely fine. Had some extra time to sober up on the bus and had no hangover the next day. Great night out!

I can remember those nights on having a night out in my years past. There is one question that I have. Just what is that Cider Drink? Cider around here is made from crushed apples and is quite good. It’s consumed in a number of ways from being heated to a warm tempeture.to drinking it just cold. The only thing that it does is make you pee if you drink to much. It has no alcohol content, unless it’s added to it. Cider down your way must be different.

Cider is still made from apples here, but it has alcohol in it. Not sure if you can buy cider that doesn’t have alcohol here. It’s kind of like beer in a way, but much easier to drink and quite fruity!
