Jeremy and I flew up to Auckland yesterday morning to visit our friends Christine and Ben. It was a good flight, not bumpy at all, but for some reason I got a bit of motion sickness anyway, typical. So throughout the day I’ve felt a bit nauseous.
We started out the day by going for a walk in the city, looked through some shops and stopped for a drink and a quick bite at the cutest little cafe called ‘The Shelf’. It had such a cool layout, and the drinks they served were pretty cool and inventive. Jeremy ordered an iced mocha, and it came out with each ingredient separate so that you could mix it yourself. And I ordered a Jasmine tea which came out with a timer so that you knew how long you should brew the tea. Super clever!
It was so hot in Auckland yesterday, it was actually quite uncomfortable. I usually really enjoy heat, but yesterday I felt really exhausted after being out in it for quite some time. I tried to drink as much water as possible, but I still felt dehydrated. We went for lunch at a little place called ‘Better Burger’. Not a bad place. The service could be improved, but the burger itself was pretty good!
After that we decided to just hang out on some bean bags down by Britomart for a while. We found some half shaded spots where we could relax for a while. But although we didn’t have direct sunlight on us, it was still pretty exhausting. We decided to head back home and just chill out.
Unfortunately I didn’t feel great for the rest of the night. I had this really annoying headache that just wouldn’t go away. I took two Nurofen and that didn’t help at all, so then I took two Panadol. Those did seem to help a bit more, but I had to go nap for about 20 minutes to half an hour for the headache to go away.
Fingers crossed I will feel better today!
