Introducing my shiny new theme!

January 23, 2016

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll notice that my site looks a bit different to what it used to. I decided it was time to give the blog a well-deserved facelift, so went and bought a theme that I fell in love with while browsing on Pinterest. I’ve never really found a theme that I love before. I’ve seen some that I thought could be OK, but this one I absolutely adore.

I hope you guys like it! There was quite a lot of work involved with switching it over. I first had to purchase space on a hosting site, seeing as WordPress.com doesn’t allow you to install external themes or edit their free ones. When I had that sorted, I bought the theme and installed it on the new hosting site. It took me hours and hours to customise it the way I wanted it, but I’m so happy with the final product.

I actually had to go through quite a few previous posts to adjust them, due to this theme not supporting some of the things that the free theme did. I’ve had to install so many plug-ins and I’ve played around with heaps of widgets. It’s likely that I’ll keep tweaking it as I go, but what you see now will be my theme for a long time!

I apologise if some of my older posts don’t work with the theme. I can’t be bothered going back to edit them all, so I’ll just make sure that the ones I write from now on work well. You may come across some 404’s if you try to find older posts unfortunately. I’m not sure what caused it, but I think it may have been due to the fact that I had to export my whole blog from WordPress.com to then import it on WordPress.org. Perhaps some files got lost in transit!

Yeah I thought the categories looked quite cool with images! Luckily I didn’t have to design the theme myself, only customise it 🙂
