Our last day in Auckland!

January 25, 2016

Another sleep-in this morning. So nice. It feels even nicer when it’s on a day that you’re normally supposed to work. (Sorry work mates!) We headed out to Stonefields to have brunch at ‘Charlie & George’. It’s been just as hot today as the other days, but luckily we managed to get a table outside in the shade, with a bit of a breeze.

The food was delicious. Both Jeremy and I had a Salmon Bagel, while Christine went for an omelette. It was a really cute place, and I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.

After brunch we went to Sylvia Park to do some shopping. I wasn’t really intending to spend any money, but I found a few things I wanted to buy. Whoops. Seeing as it was so steaming hot outside, we decided to drive to ‘The Strawberry Farm’ to have some real fruit ice cream. I bloody love real fruit ice cream, and the serving they gave us was pretty incredible.

In the hunt for some more wind, we drove up One Tree Hill to take some pictures and just relax for a bit. It was really nice up there and the views are pretty sweet. There were quite a few tourists up there.

We sat and enjoyed the breeze for quite some time before we decided it was time to head back home to pack. We’re flying back to Wellington in a few hours. I could do with some more time off. Luckily I only have work Tuesday – Friday before I head off to Australia for a two week holiday. Can’t wait!
