So I haven’t blogged much over the last week. Partly because I’ve just been enjoying my holiday, but also because I’ve been in pain. The day before we went down to Mollymook, I started having quite a bit of trouble with one of my wisdom teeth. It had been flaring up every now and again, but this time it felt a lot worse.
Jeremy’s brother is a dentist, so luckily he offered to take a look. He decided to cut some of the gums away around the tooth to see if that helped, rather than take the tooth out as you shouldn’t remove the tooth unless you really have to. Unfortunately the problems continued and I’ve been in quite a lot of pain over the last week. So last night he decided that he would take another look at it.
We went into his dentist office at around 10 pm last night, and after taking a look at it, he said it might be best to just take it out. And so he did. I was terrified that it was going to hurt really bad. But he’s a really good dentist, and he gave me the anaesthetic and took the tooth out probably within 15 minutes. It was over so quick. It didn’t really hurt, but it was very uncomfortable.
I didn’t think I was going to be taking my wisdom teeth out, but considering I had so much trouble with this one in particular, I’m pretty happy I did.
It doesn’t hurt too much right now, but it’s been bleeding quite a bit. I just need to make sure I take care of it well, and don’t chew on hard foods. I had trifle for breakfast and I believe we’re having pasta for lunch. This is our last full day in Australia, and we’ll be heading back to New Zealand tomorrow evening.
