I watched six movies this weekend

March 20, 2016

If you read my last blog post, then you’ll know that I’ve been feeling quite ill the last couple of days. When that happens, I take the opportunity to watch some movies.

When I really feel like watching a movie, I always have a hard time choosing which one, but when I’m just watching movies because I’m sick, I find it much easier to just put one on on and watch it. I’m not going to write out massive reviews of them, I just thought I’d share what I’ve watched.

When Harry met Sally

When Harry Met Sally

What a classic! I’ve seen this movie a few times before, but it’s just such a good movie and it’s the kind of movie that just makes you feel good inside. It’s clever, funny, romantic and just entertaining all the way through. This one is a solid 4,5/5 I reckon.

Stuck in love

Stuck in love

This movie was actually better than I thought it would be. I’ve watched the trailer a few times and I added it to the list of movies I wanted to see, but I never watched it. Well, now I have and I quite liked it. It’s not the kind of movie I’d watch again I don’t think, but I don’t feel like I wasted my time watching it. Lots of great actors in it! I’ll give it 3,5/5.

Jeremy and I watched this one together last night. I’ve been meaning to watch it for quite some time, but just hadn’t got to it. I liked it, and I look forward to seeing the rest in the series. I sort of giggled at the fact that Shailene’s brother in the movie is the same guy who played her boyfriend in ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and that her enemy in the movie was played by the same guy who plays her boyfriend in ‘The Spectacular Now’. Either they’re running out of actors, or they just reckon they act well together, haha. I give it 4/5.

Seeing as we watched the first one, we decided to watch the second as well. I didn’t think the second was as good as the first, but it really hit me in this movie how the Divergent series is like a mix of The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner. I actually thought it was very similar to The Maze Runner to be honest! It wasn’t boring though, it still had me hooked throughout the movie, so I’ll give it a 3,5/5

This is another movie that I’ve watched the trailer for a few times but never really got around to watching. This one I do actually feel like I wasted my time with a bit. I didn’t really enjoy it at all, and to be honest, it was actually quite depressing! I guess it’s artsy and all that, but I just didn’t enjoy it. When I’m sick I kind of feel like watching movies that will make me feel better. This one certainly didn’t. I do like Justin Long though. I’ll give this one a 2,5/5.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower1

I really liked this movie. I thought the actors were pretty great in it, and it was cool to see Emma Watson play such a different role from what I’ve seen previously (pretty much Harry Potter, haha). I cried, I’m not going to lie. It was a serious movie, but there were quite a few funny moments too. I love when they mix funny with serious, because if it’s serious all the way through, it can get quite depressing. This one gets a 4/5.

I did the same thing last week when I was ill. Did watch when Harry Met Sally, tried to watch Divergent but didn’t make it all the way through, was too much like all the other diasporan movies….Mocking bird, Maze Runner etc. So I binged watch all the local(English) detective shows. Watched a few classics, Roman Holiday, To Catch a Thief, Some like it Hot, and a few other. I’m a huge fan of Jack Lemon, Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant 😉
Also watched Ferris Bueller’s day off and The Secret to my

Yeah I can totally see what you mean by the fact that Divergent was a lot like the other ones. But I still enjoyed it, so I did make it all the way through! 🙂 Can’t say I’ve watched a lot of English detective shows, or English shows in general!

I’ll give it another go. Kids recommended because they saw at the Cinema. For the English shows, I’m in UK, so not much choice there I’m afraid. Though there are a few good ones! 😉 Hope you’re feeling better though.
