Project: Reading a book #3

March 30, 2016

I’ve decided I’ll combine the review of the last book I read, with the introduction of the next book I will read, just so that I don’t feel I’m spamming you with posts about books!

Review: ‘This Raging Light’ by Estelle Laure

This Raging Light2

Not a big fan of this book. It was definitely written for Young Adults. I mean, I knew that already, but the last book I read was also written for Young Adults, and I loved that one. I just felt like the storyline in this book was very lacking, and some parts of the book just felt a bit boring. I also felt like the author just chucked in the occasional ‘complicated’ word every now and again, even when there was no need for it. Perhaps it’s just me, but saying that ‘people were cooing’ is just strange. Maybe it’s just because I don’t like the word!

I managed to finish it though, and I actually finished it ages ago. I kind of forgot to write the review! I don’t think I’ll be looking up other books by the same author. I didn’t really like her writing style, so I’ll likely move on to a different author.

Next on my list: ‘The Spectacular Now’ by Tim Tharp

The Spectacular Now

I’m not going to lie, I’ve already started to read the book, so it shouldn’t take too long before I can move on to the next. I wonder how long I’ll be able to keep up my reading for. I find it quite relaxing, especially reading on my breaks at work. It’s just nice to get away from the computer for a bit every day.

What are you reading right now?
