We’re off to Napier, New Zealand!

July 22, 2016

A few days ago I updated my Facebook status to say I’m craving travel at the moment. I’ve seen so many posts from my friends who are travelling around the world and they’re having the time of their lives. Currently, I’ve got friends travelling in America, South America, Europe and Asia. I’m so jealous.

Yesterday, Jeremy wrote me a message while at work, asking if I was bored this weekend. I asked him why, and he suggested we go for a bit of a drive to Napier for the weekend. I loved the idea, and the next thing I know, we’ve booked accommodation. It might not be an overseas holiday, but sometimes a weekend road trip can be pretty awesome.

Last time we were in Napier was in 2012 when we did a road trip up there with a few friends from work. We had a great time. We stayed at a hostel that time and met some crazy tourists that we ended up playing some drinking games with.

This time, it’ll just be me and Jeremy, so at a guess, the trip will mostly be about food. We love food. A lot, haha. There’s quite a few vineyards up there too so I might stop by a couple to see if I can find anything interesting to bring back down.

Other than that, we haven’t really planned what we’re going to do there, so I suppose we’ll just do what we feel like. We’re driving up to Palmerston North after work today, and we’ll head off to Napier early tomorrow morning.

Keep your fingers crossed the weather will be good!
