I’m really excited about our flights!

September 26, 2016

Close to 70 days left now until Jeremy and I jet off to Sweden. I’m so excited, but so nervous at the same time. I’m really looking forward to the flights though. We’re flying Business Class the whole way, which is only possible because Jeremy is absolutely amazing at finding great deals. What would I do without him!

There will be 4 flights in total:

  • Wellington to Sydney (Qantas)
  • Sydney to Tokyo (Qantas)
  • Tokyo to London (Japan Airlines)
  • London to Stockholm (British Airways)

I’m going to try to make the most of the flights, and not sleep it all away. I mean, of course I’ll be sleeping for a decent chunk of the flights, seeing as it’s Business Class and I can lie down flat. I’ve got to take advantage of that. But at the same time, I don’t want to miss out on any of the foods or other service you receive.

I usually always take motion sickness medication before flights, even though I’ve never really had a bad experience being motion sick on a plane. Except for one time when I flew from Wellington to Palmerston North on a small propeller plane and got a seat without a window. That was absolutely horrible.

It’s different being on a bigger plane though. This time I’m going to try not taking any motion sickness pills, because I would like to take advantage of having a glass of champagne or a glass of wine on the flight instead. Priorities.

I’ll attempt to write a blog post about each flight, and maybe about the lounges we visit. There will likely be a lot more blog posts than normal coming your way during those days, hope you don’t mind!

My fiancé buys US air miles from either United Airways or United Airlines, can’t remember exactly. But then you can exchange those points for flights, and it becomes a lot cheaper. I might ask him to write a blog post about it in the future and see if I can share it on my blog. 🙂

I’ll definitely make sure I enjoy it to the fullest, because I’m sure I won’t have too many opportunities like this. 🙂

Just looking at that map makes me so nervous, haha! I HATE flying and I’m not sure if I could ever make it on all those flights! But business class might make it a little more feasible…sounds like you got yourself a winner!

You might be surprised, but I actually hate flying too. It scares me to death, haha. But I try to distract myself with all the in flight entertainment etc. 🙂
