We’ve made it to London and I feel absolutely exhausted. Although business class is comfortable, you still don’t get the proper sleep you need, and jet lag is imminent. I’m definitely feeling the jet lag now. I didn’t so much before, but now we’re on the other side of the world where the timezone is the complete opposite, my body seems confused.
The Japan Airlines Sakura lounge at Tokyo Haneda was pretty OK. Jeremy really loved the interior design, but I didn’t think it was anything too special. I did enjoy the food there though – surprise, surprise. It seems to be all about the food for me!
They had massage chairs in the lounge that we decided to try out. Jeremy quite enjoyed it while I felt terrible afterwards. I must have done something wrong, because my lower back and shoulders are still hurting now.
The problem was that the remote for the massage chair was in Japanese. Sure, they had some brief English instructions, but not nearly enough to know what each button did. I gave up pretty quick and went to have some more food instead! Classic me.
We went for a walk through the airport to see if we could find any cool souvenirs. We ended up picking up some warm gloves for Sweden, and some amazing Japanese confectionary. They’ve got so much cool food in Japan.
The flight to London was great. I had planned to stay awake during the flight, so that I could have a long night’s sleep in London, but that plan failed. I had food, then watched Notting Hill and half of Avatar before I felt I needed to get some rest.
I slept for about 5 hours, and then finished off Avatar and ate again. The flight wasn’t shaky at all, and I was able to take some pretty cool photos during the flight.
So now we’re in London. We went straight to the hotel, and although the initial plan was to stay awake until the evening, I laid down on the bed and pretty much fell asleep straight away. Woke up after a few hours to go get some dinner, but then went back to the hotel again.
We were given two vouchers for a couple of complimentary drinks, so we stopped by the bar. I had an Apple Martini which was pretty yum, and Jeremy had a mocktail of some sort.
Now I’m in bed and about to go to sleep again. We need to wake up at around 4.30 or 5am tomorrow morning and I want to try to get as much rest as possible before then. Otherwise I’ll just get home to Sweden, say hi and then go to bed. That wouldn’t be fun!
