I bought myself a gift from Colourpop

January 16, 2017

So here’s the thing – I’m unemployed. Being unemployed means I can’t really afford spending money on unnecessary things. That can sometimes get quite depressing, especially if you see something you really like. You feel the disappointment growing and it makes you sad.

Last night, I was just watching YouTube videos as I usually do, when I came across some Colourpop swatch videos. I’ve only got one Colourpop lipstick at the moment, but I absolutely love it and I’ve been complimented when wearing it countless times. I haven’t bought any more because they were quite difficult to get a hold of in New Zealand (or so I found anyway).

However, after watching the videos, I felt I had to get one as a little treat for myself, so I went onto the Colourpop website to have a look at the prices and to check how easy it would be to get it shipped to Sweden. I then found that they do packs of three for $15 (USD), and I thought that was quite a bargain. So after looking around for about 10 minutes or so, googling the swatches to see what the colours looked like, I popped two packs in my shopping cart. Shipping was $9 something I believe, so all in all, I’m paying $39 for 6 liquid lipsticks. Now, that’s pretty cheap.

The two packs I bought were

  • Just Peachy:

    Instigator: matte muted peach

    Screenshot: satin deepened peach

    Speed Dial: matte rich peach

  • Out and About:

    Viper: matte true dusty rose

Times Square: matte muted pink beige

    Baracuda: satin warm deepened rose

Just Peachy

Out and About

Apparently my order will take about 3-5 business days to process, and I’m not quite sure how long it would take for the parcel to reach Sweden, but it did say that it’s Express shipping, so hopefully not too long. I have a feeling that there will be one or two colours that won’t suit me.

It’s funny, you see people trying them on and they look absolutely amazing. And then you try them on yourself and they look terrible on you. Hopefully that won’t be the case though.

Do you like Colourpop? Let me know in the comments!

Yes! absolutely love color pop, if you do a little background you will also find that they are an animal-testing free makeup company, which really makes them stand out in my book. Currently my favorite shade is “time square” I wear it all the time!

Oh awesome! I’ll get Times Square in one of my packs. Probably the one I’m the most excited about, because it looks like one you can use pretty much anytime with any outfit! 🙂

It’s always a good thing to treat yourself every now and then! You are deserving of a gift to yourself! I have also came across items that I thought were amazing, only to find out I couldn’t pull it off! *Fingers crossed* That they are everything you hope they are!

I’ve actually never heard of Colourpop so I’m interested to see what you think of them!

Yeah, I only heard about Colourpop last year, and I’m really excited to try some more of them! I’ll definitely write a post about how I find them.
